Pairloom is a compatibility discovery tool. You play short question-based games solo or with someone else, and we use your answers to build a dimensional profile and compute compatibility scores. Pairloom is not a dating app — it works alongside whatever platform you already use to meet people.
Your name (or a nickname), email address, profile photo (from your sign-in provider), game answers, and any optional profile fields you choose to fill in (birthday, location, gender, relationship preferences).
Dimensional profile scores across six relationship dimensions, compatibility scores between you and your connections, and compatibility category breakdowns.
Your IP address (logged for abuse prevention).
Some game questions touch on intimacy, values, and relationship style. These answers are treated with extra care and are never shared with third parties. Access by our own team is limited and recorded (see section 4).
Your profile is private by default. Compatibility scores are only visible to both players after they've both completed a session together. Your dimensional profile data is never shared with third parties.
A small number of authorised Pairloom team members can access account data when it is needed to provide support, investigate a problem or a report of abuse, or check that the service is working properly. This can include viewing your account the way you see it, in a read-only mode: they cannot play, send, change or delete anything as you. What they see can include your answers and the results of games you have played with other people.
When a team member views your account this way, it is recorded. We keep this access to what the task needs, we never use it for advertising, and we never share what we see with third parties.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your games, answers, scores, connections, presence, feedback and notifications are removed immediately. IP logs are kept for up to 90 days for abuse prevention; a scheduled job runs daily and removes entries older than that. Technical diagnostics for live games are removed after 30 days.
When you delete your account, the display name you chose to share with your connections will remain visible to them so they can identify who they played with. No game data, compatibility scores, or any other information will be visible. This is the only trace of your account that remains after deletion.
Every game is scored on its own. Pairloom also keeps a running profile built from your answers across games, so your picture with each person gets clearer the more you play. That profile is how the compatibility score works; it is never shown to anyone as a list of answers, only inside games you chose to play. Deleting your account removes it.
Pairloom runs on Vercel (hosting) and Google Firebase (sign-in and database). Images are served through Cloudinary. We use Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics for aggregate usage statistics; it does not receive your game answers.
