Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pairloom, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Your continued use of Pairloom after any changes to these terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Description of Service

Pairloom is a multiplayer compatibility app where users play games with potential partners, friends, or anyone they're curious about. Games are designed to reveal preferences, values, and relationship style across six compatibility dimensions. Your answers are used to compute compatibility scores between you and your connections.

Pairloom is not a dating app, matchmaking service, or social network. We do not introduce you to strangers or facilitate communication between users outside the app. Compatibility scores are intended as conversation starters and points of reflection — not as definitive assessments of relationship viability.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Pairloom. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we reasonably believe belong to users under 18.

Certain games (such as Love Limits) contain adult content and are marked 18+. By accessing these games you confirm you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to view such content.

4. User Accounts

Pairloom uses Google Sign-In for authentication. By signing in, you authorise us to access your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account solely for the purpose of creating and managing your Pairloom account.

• ✓You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• ✓You may only maintain one account per person.
• ✓You may change your display name at any time from your profile.
• ✓You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on Pairloom, including game answers, drawings created in Sketch Duet, chat messages during live games, and any other user-submitted material.

By submitting content to Pairloom, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and display that content within the app for the purpose of delivering the service — including generating compatibility scores, showing game results to your connections, and displaying shared game content to recipients of your shared links.

We will never sell your content, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties outside the scope of delivering the Pairloom service.

6. Privacy

Your privacy matters. Our full Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Pairloom you agree to the terms of that policy.

Google OAuth data (name, email, profile photo) is used exclusively for authentication and account creation. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google services.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• ×Use Pairloom to harass, bully, stalk, or intimidate anyone.
• ×Create fake or misleading accounts.
• ×Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the service.
• ×Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• ×Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from Pairloom.
• ×Share game links with the intent to deceive or manipulate recipients.
• ×Use Pairloom for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Pairloom is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do our best to keep the service available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.

Compatibility scores are algorithmically generated and are not professional advice. Do not make significant life decisions based solely on a compatibility percentage.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Pairloom and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

9. Arbitration & Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with Pairloom, you agree to first contact us at support@pairloom.app and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days before initiating any formal proceedings.

If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of Pairloom shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action.

These terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app. Continued use of Pairloom after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
